The corridors that lead to the enormous rooms full of works of art are majestic: statues in marble, bronze, paintings and frescoes. The Papal Apartments and the Sistine Chapel are magnificent, frescoed on behalf of the Pope by Michelangelo Bonarroti and Raffaello Sanzio.
