Navona Square

do not miss it

Dettagli dell'evento
Originally called Circo Angalis built by the Emperor Domitian

Navona Square

Where the Romans practiced gymnastic activities in preparation for the Olympic games. However it was later destroyed by fire in the second Century AD and remained unused until the Baroque era, when the great Gianlorenzo Bernini completely renovated it. He built one of the most beautiful fountains in the city, "The fountain of the 4 Rivers". There are various legends around this fountain, in regards to an argument between the architect Borromini and the sculptor Bernini, who  built their works in front of each other.
